Meet Our Pastor
Pastor Timothy Elias
Called to Preach
When Pastor Timothy was in his last year of high school, God called him to preach. He remembers sitting at the front of the church with his friends and the preacher was preaching from II Timothy. God was really working in his heart and the preacher kept using his name. Pastor Timothy felt like the pastor was preaching directly to him. When the pastor got to II Timothy 4:2 “Preach the Word,” those three words hit him harder than any other three words in the Bible. He remembers thinking, an angel could have come from heaven and said those three words to him, and it wouldn’t have been any more real to him. He knew that very moment God was calling him to preach. The next fall he started taking classes at Canadian Baptist Bible College and graduated in 2013.
Service
God has given Pastor Timothy opportunities to serve through helping and leading many different ministries—including visitation, senior’s home services, prayer, youth, music, preaching, special events and services, VBS and other children’s ministries in an independent Baptist church in Carman, Manitoba. In 2018 he moved to Winkler and had been privileged to serve in various ministries and outreach opportunities at Pembina Valley Baptist Church. God laid Canada on their hearts while seeking His will for their lives during a mission trip in Liberia, West Africa. In November of 2020, he was given the privilege to come on staff as an intern pastor at Pembina Valley Baptist Church preparing for the pastorate.
God’s Specific Call on Pastor Timothy
As a family, they have been driving to Kenora to preach and minister in Victory Baptist Church on a semi-regular basis over the last 4 years. God has laid it on their hearts to come to Kenora to pastor Victory Baptist Church. God confirmed this specific call on his life by speaking to me through Isaiah 41:10 & 13: “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
“For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
On April 3, 2022, the church voted in favour of calling Pastor Timothy to be their pastor. Pastor Timothy and his family are looking forward to what God is going to do through Victory Baptist Church as they seek to reach out and serve Him in Kenora.

Pastor’s Special Memories
I have been coming to Kenora for our family camp since I was a young boy. We would attend Victory Baptist Church on an annual basis. Back then, I would never have thought that one day I would be living in Kenora and pastoring the same church that we have visited every year!
I have special memories of quoting from memory chapters from the Bible. On one occasion I was fishing with my brother-in-law in a canoe. It was in the middle of the day and the fish weren’t biting. As soon as I began quoting Scripture, we started catching fish non-stop for several minutes! It was a memorable experience!
